The Fake Leading the Blind

Well, well, well....it looks like another controversial celebrity, the so-called Dr. Mehmet Oz, is "so proud" of Angelina Jolie's "courage."

Is everyone paying attention now?

Why is it that celebrities are so easily forgiven,  their broken pasts are so easily forgotten, and they end up so easily sold to us as morally superior?

I really don't want to hear Dr. Oz's opinion of Mrs. Pitt-iful. I'd rather hear from a real doctor on this issue. Preferably a good psychiatrist who might be able to shine a light on us and investigate if this aspiring funeral director's decision to remove her breasts, and her next project of removing her ovaries, are in any way related to her history of self-harm and mutilation. Is she merely just obsessed with pain and death?

In her own words, "I collected knives and always had certain things around. For some reason, the ritual of having cut myself and feeling the pain, maybe feeling alive, feeling some kind of release, it was somehow therapeutic to me."

According to wikipedia, "She found it difficult to emotionally connect with other people, and as a result she started to self-harm."

Might things not be going so media-peachy in the Jolie-Pitt fairytale? Might she simply be just craving therapy and attention, the poor gal. Is this what she really wanted from the global publicity? Sad success!

I might be coming across as not liking Angelina. That's not true at all. I care about her as I would care about any living thing.  In fact, I'm "proud" of her for being a millionairess high school drop-out! But, she happens to be in the spotlight for something that could potentially turn out to be a very dangerous trend among women world-wide.

Stay tuned...
